A Summery Sunday (have a peek at how the brownies turned out)

So today we ventured to The Gloup. 'What's the Gloup?' you may ask. Well...it is a collapsed sea cave in the Mull Head Nature Reserve in Deerness. What an impressive place (and we could hear the motor cross in Deerness which was pretty cool). Last time I visited we pretty much had the place to ourselves, but when it's a sunny Sunday in Orkney, there's bound to be more tourists about.
What could top the stunning views? A swim of course! Not in the Gloup (maybe one day - it may not be as warm as the blue lagoon in Capri, but I'm certain it would be just as refreshing!) but in Lamb Holm. Last week I swam here for the first time. Now, I am Scottish (so I am used to the cold) but oh my...it was colder than I even could have imagined! As cold as it was, I haven't been put off. How refreshing the water is and how much it clears your head definitely makes up for how cold it is (and anyways your body adapts to the cold so the water is fine after a while - and no! we don't wear wet suits here!).
Now then...what could top a delightful walk AND a refreshing swim - brownies of course!
Have a look at the photos below - I don't think the chocolatey raspberry goodness will last long! P.s I have decided I am a 'rustic' baker - I am not the neatest baker/cook but hopefully the taste makes up for that! I also added some Orkney Wine Raspberrylicious to the mix before baking...mmm!
Happy Sunday x gf v x
