A wee veggie intro!

Thank you for choosing to read my blog! I am new to this so feel free to share your knowledge of blogging (or vogging I'm calling it now - for us veggies!)
I have been a vegetarian for many years now. The main reason for my change in habits (much to the detriment of my meat loving dad) was the fact that meat was a little out of my student loan price range.
However, after a while, I realised that food can still be delicious, flavoursome and balanced without having to add meat.
I got used to sourcing and experimenting with various veggie ingredients then bang! I met a carnivorous boyfriend. Luckily he is not too fussy so Quorn has been a key to keeping him happy ( hey if it's good for Mo Farah, then it's good for us!). After a while another bang! happened when I found that I could no longer eat wheat (whaaaaat - but I love carbs!). This felt like a HUGE challenge and at the start, I knew very little about going gluten free.
After time, this extra challenge has now become the norm.
I am currently at the start of a new chapter in my life. I have left my job, flat and family /friends in Edinburgh and have moved up to Orkney to save money for a bigger move to New Zealand or Canada (too hard to decide!) in January. Please join me on my next chapter, and on the way I would like to show you places I find that that cater to a 'trickier customer' and that there are so many delicious gluten free veggie dishes out there.
So cheers to that! x gf v x
